The General Church–balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2016

August 7, 2015

Dear Pastors and Treasurers,

The Administration of the General Church and its Board wish to formally recognize and thank congregations world-wide for their significant contributions to the Central Office’s overall budget reduction in the form of grant reductions.  Since 2010, the year in which its operating deficit hit a peak at roughly $3.4m, the General Church Central Office has reduced its operating expenses by approximately $4.9m. (Revenue also dropped by about $1.4m for the same period.) Over $600k of these expense reductions were achieved in congregational grant decreases. In March, the General Church Board approved a balanced budget for Fiscal Year 2016.

We asked for your help and you responded positively. Transforming revenue streams to rely more on annual contributions and less on grants from a parent organization is an extremely difficult process and we thank you most sincerely for your hard work and commitment to the long-term sustainability of the church organization as a whole.

Please share a heartfelt thank you with your board and congregation on behalf of the General Church.

Sincerely,

David Frazier
